Episode 46 - Islam: A Sanctuary for Women In a time when society’s expectations from women are overwhelming with how they live their life and the choices they make, a sense of calm and assurance is found in Islam. Contrary to misconceptions, Muslim women find incredible inspiration and empowerment in Islam, and in exemplary people from early Islam. Rather than needing to satisfy or appeal to others in our lives or wider society, Islam encourages us to turn to Allah the Almighty and attain His Pleasure and Love. In today’s episode, we will explore the ways in which this specific principle ensures equality in Islam and shields Muslim women.  From ancient times to the modern age, countless women have been commemorated in history over their fierce examples of strength. But there are even more unnamed heroes from our daily lives. These are the stories of our mothers and grandmothers.

Episode 14. Salvation. Words in scriptures and commentaries of those scriptures can be bandied and intertwined; the sense of the word is understood, but do we exactly understand the concept of salvation?  What do the Islam and Christianity have to say on the subject? And how do we achieve this? On reading, it appears that you cannot have salvation without sin. The Christian idea of “original sin” says that they are saved by the “blood of Jesus” who died to deliver them from their sin. What about Muslims? Can we be saved from repentance of all the bad we have done?
