Episode 103 Patience Widely considered the “Queen of the Virtues” patience has always been a characteristic associated with those of high morals and good character. Religious Scripture and folklore alike are full of guidance telling us that steadfastness will earn us high esteem not only within our communities, but also, and more importantly for us as Muslims, a life of spiritual tranquillity and nearness to God. So in a life full of challenges and tribulations, how do we live a life of serenity and patience, does faith have the answers?

St Augustine: Learn about the life of the early christian theologian and philosopher St Augustine of Hippo, how his writings influenced history and why he is viewed as one of the most important church fathers in Western history. We will be listening to extracts from one of his most famous writings, The Confessions.

In the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, it's easy to overlook the transformative power of a smile, a helping hand, or a kind word. However, Islam postively promotes the notion that these seemingly small acts can have a monumental impact on the lives of others, reflecting the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) who exemplified mercy and kindness in all his interactions. Throughout this episode, we will explore the Islamic perspective on random acts of kindness, drawing inspiration from the Quran and Ahadith. We will share heartwarming stories that highlight the beauty of kindness, discuss practical ways to incorporate it into our lives, and reflect on how these acts can serve as a powerful tool for spreading love and unity within society. Episode 8. Khilafat-e-Rashida (the Rightly Guided Caliphs). The establishment of the early Muslim civilisation under the leadership of four Rightly Guided Caliphs, Hazrat Abu Bakar, Hazrat Umar, Hazrat Usman and Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with them).

Episode 6. Hazrat Maryam (peace be on her), the mother of Prophet Jesus (peace be on him), is a salient figure in religious history who has inspired humankind for centuries. Maryam was a model of piety, patience, chastity, and righteousness. She is the only woman mentioned by name in the Qur’an, and the most mentioned woman in the New Testament. This episode explores Maryam’s beautiful qualities, for which the Qur’an sets her as an example for both male and female believers. There will also be discussions on certain theological doctrines and debates, including the Immaculate Conception and the Assumption of Mary, with emphasis on Islam’s untainted portrayal & what we can learn from her exemplary character.

Series 3 Episode 6. This episode will cover the growing area of Brain Computing Interfacing. A thorough explanation of this field will be provided. Fascinating facts about the brain will be presented to our listeners before delving into the different types of Brain Computing Interfacing. Different types of BCI will then be described including invasive and noninvasive types. Different companies involved in this work will be discussed such as Elon Musk’s Neural link. Also, as more companies get involved in this field, and more devices become available, the impact of the ethics of the BCI is also growing more complex. So this will also be briefly discussed during this episode.

Fasting is not exclusive to Muslims and later this month many Christians will be observing Lent. Episode 104 Resilience and Growth Mindset Resilience and growth mind-set have become popular in modern culture as a way of teaching individuals how to learn from failure and to face challenges. It has developed in response to a rising concern with mental health and well-being and the stresses of modern life. It is gaining popularity in schools and is becoming part of the curriculum. So what is growth mind set – how does it link to resilience and what impact can it have on our lives. What is resilience? Is it a new thing? How can it be defined? Is it important to our lives? Can it be taught or learnt or is it innate? What role does resilience have in faith? What is a growth mind-set and how can this help us to develop resilience? Is this something found in faith?

Episode 16. A historic address delivered by His Holiness Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, the Worldwide Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, at Capitol Hill, USA on 27th June 2012 on the subject of 'Peace & Harmony'.

Ahmad the Guided One: In this episode we will be learning about the life of the Founder of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (on whom be peace) hear of his incredible journey and the struggles he had to face after making the claim to be the Promised Messiah of the latter days.

Episode 19. This is Part-2 of where we shall be listening back to a very special ‘Live Poets for Peace’ event which took place online, that we just could not keep to ourselves. And where, by the grace of God, 14 very acclaimed Muslim poets took part, who were from various backgrounds, with various styles and shared their poetry on various aspects of their belief in Islam. During this second part of that event, we shall be hearing from the remaining acclaimed poets with titles such as: •Noah’s Ark •Sorry you just missed him – which talks about the advent of the Promised Messiah •Love and praise of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) •Our Jihad •Freedom •The Pain of Muhammad (peace be upon him) •And finally ‘Humanity’ This was a live event, so there were times when the sound wasn’t as perfect as it usually is on this show, but I’m sure you’re going to see past a few of the ups and downs, but do bear with us as it does very quickly improve.
