Episode 39. Hijab: A Mode of Worship Along with all of Islam's teachings towards men and women, the veil helps to create the peaceful society that the religion nurtures. The hijab has several layers of wisdom and blessings. It may not give complete protection against evil, but it can alter the wearer's tenacity in the same way that prayer has a greater impact on our inner states rather than just our outside circumstances. Since human nature is immutable, the laws that must govern our discipline should likewise be based on tried-and-true basic ideas. Man's nature being immutable, the need to shed this outer layer of modesty does not exist, even so, some see the hijab as an outdated ritual.
